Carlos started Salinas Insulation in 2022 after years of watching homeowners in the Salinas Valley get poor advice from contractors who did not understand the local climate. Salinas is not Phoenix or Sacramento. The marine layer off Monterey Bay keeps humidity elevated all year, and insulation that performs well in a dry inland city can cause moisture problems here if it is specified without that in mind.
The business is based in downtown Salinas, close to the same Oldtown neighborhoods and working-class streets that defined this city for generations. Most of the homes we work in are pre-1980 construction, built when energy codes were minimal and wall cavities were often left empty. Our work is mostly retrofits: bringing older homes up to a standard that keeps a family warm on a cool coastal night without running the heater all evening.
We serve 12 cities from Pacific Grove on the coast to King City in the south. Every project gets the same care regardless of size, because a poorly installed attic job causes problems for years and a homeowner deserves to know the work was done right.
These are not aspirations. They are the practical standards we hold every project to.
Before any work begins you get a written estimate that spells out materials, labor, and what the finished job looks like. No surprises on the invoice.
The marine layer off Monterey Bay keeps humidity elevated year-round. Every recommendation accounts for moisture management, not just R-value numbers on a spec sheet.
When we say 1 business day, we mean it. Homeowners should not have to chase a contractor for a reply or a follow-up visit.
The people who assess your home are the same people who install the insulation. Details from the walkthrough carry directly through to the job site.
Serving Salinas since 2022. Licensed, insured, and bonded.
California's Contractors State License Board requires a C-2 license for any insulation project valued at $1,000 or more. This confirms documented trade experience and a passed CSLB exam. Verify our license at cslb.ca.gov.
Every project is covered by active general liability insurance. If something is damaged during the work, there is a real policy in place, not a verbal promise.
Every crew member on your property is covered by workers' compensation. That protects you from liability if anyone is injured on your job site.
For permitted projects we provide a completed CF2R Installation Certificate submitted to the City of Salinas Building Division. Your permit closes on the first inspection.
We cover 12 cities across Monterey County, San Benito County, and the Salinas Valley corridor.
